Located in the Langley backlot of Martini Film Studio is Martini Town, an actual movie set and the backdrop to numerous Hallmark romantic Christmas comedies that you can actually visit.

We got in 3 days ahead of their official opening to be able to report on the fun. Now on their second year I was excited to see how they have built on this really picturesque experience.

This is an actual town with 50’s style diner, an Italian restaurant, and even an Asian massage parlour. There is a movie theatre with cinema marquee, a bakery, a toy store, a grocery store, alleys, and a town square that leads to the town hall. This was just missing a bank, school, and barber shop.

You still are not able to go into any of the fictitious buildings, and there isn’t much to do outside of taking photos, but they have put a lot more into their staging. You can now peer into each shop window and take in “dazzling new decor, expanded sets, and brand-new seasonal attractions—designed to feel straight out of a holiday movie!” (As taken from the press release).
Tonight we were also able to enjoy the singing of roving carollers, live performers in costume, and even a visit from Mr and Mrs Clause in their own gazebo, located in front of Santa’s work shop.

And this year there are 2 cafes where you can grab a non-alcoholic beverage at. The hot chocolate bar for the classic and Martini Cafe for hot chocolate with whipped cream and peppermint sprinkles, hot apple cider, tea, and coffee. As well as cold mocktails and cookie and nuts for snacks. Be warned it is no cash, card only.

If looking for more fulsome bites there are three food trucks to choose from. Tacos from a Dinosaur, wood fire pizzas, and Langley’s famous Texas BBQ. There are high top tables surrounded by heat lamps and a covered seating area with benches to eat it all at.

Family friendly fun and all the photo ops to get that perfect seasonal shot. There is even “snow” in the form of foam for a one of a kind moment.

Outside of walking, exploring, and taking photos there is not much to do to fill the time. I would have liked to see more activations. A daily opening and closing ceremony for folks to time their visit around. Perhaps a flash mob and/or dance routine to foster the Hallmark feel. Maybe some lawn games or an activity tent to engage in. Baring that, a bar to order a couple or cocktails and simply enjoy the festive setting.

The pop up will be running from December 4th to January 5th, 2025 every Wednesday through Sunday (including Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, but closed Christmas Day), from 3 to 10 pm.
