La Mezcaleria x Stanley Park Mini Golf

I didn’t realize that Stanley Park offered golf, let alone two different options for it. We went to one side of the park, only to have to walk to the other, then realizing the difference.

Our ultimate destination was at Stanley Park’s Patio, an open space with a concession stand and picnic tables. Apparently this has been open all summer long and we caught the tail end of it today. For those interested, the pop up only has two weeks to go, with the season ending on September 30th, 2026.

The canteen offers a collection of coolers and blended cocktails, plus snacks like elote and chips and salsa. All of which is catered by local Mexican restaurant chain La Mezcaleria. With all this and running water toilets, this was fun way to spend a hot and sunny afternoon.

Our visit coincided with Mexican Independence Day and to celebrate they were hosting a party with special menu and music. The latter went from a mariachi quartet in pageant wear to a live DJ spinning, well into the evening. The music was nice to have as we could hear and sway to the festive melodies as we played our round of golf later in to the afternoon.

Only for today La Mezcaleria was grilling up meat for tacos. You could choose from chorizo, steak, or mushroom. Each served on a flour tortilla that you then dress yourself with the available table condiments. We had one of each and piled on the raw onions and cilantro, plus hot salsa.

We also had some grilled corn on the cob, with the husk still attached and serving well as a handle of sorts. I just wished there were some butter and seasonings to dress this with. I ate it plain.

And we washed this all down with a frosty pina colada. Others had ready to drink cans of margaritas.

Once full and happy we checked in for our mini golf session. Our group of 7 played the full 18 rounds of mini golf, and kept score. This was a collection of holes that included uphill putts, ones that had you avoiding obstacles, and the need to chip it high to finish the match.

Overall this was a fantastic way to enjoy and end our day. We took our time and closed out the course.
