This week we are featuring the 2023 Nissan Versa SR CVT, an economic sedan that is nimble in the city and resourceful everywhere else you take it. A solid base model vehicle that gives you all the modern amenities, with an air of utility.
It is great on fuel economy, allowing you go further and longer for less money and less time spent at the pumps. That and its reasonable price point means the Nissan Versa will not break the bank. Equipped with standard safety features it takes you securely from work to home, and everywhere in between; with prodding alerts and gentle cautions.
It has plenty of get up and go with 122-horsepower and a 4-cylinder engine, making every day driving enjoyable. This is enough power to overtake and change lanes with ease. It is also equipped with Nissan’s standard Xtronic CVT transmission, which means it can reach up to 7.3 L/100 km in the city and 5.8 L/100 km on the highway.
Inside, there is enough room for five passengers if you squeeze, but realistically better suited for four grown adults. There isn’t much lumbar support on any of the seats, or any that you can customize. However, the seats are “Zero Gravity” and “fatigue-free”. This is technology that is created to alleviate back and hip discomfort for drivers and passengers, by curating the ideal posture for longer drives.
Aesthetically, the interior is straightforward, nothing out of place, and everything you expect from a daily driver. Outside of the contrast stitching: double orange against black leather. This is a firm dry leather that further wraps around the dash, seats, arm rest.
As the driver, you have full access to what you need before you. An 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and wireless charging; plus all the modern conveniences in media and in-cabin climate control.
In short, a great beginner vehicle to learn with, and one that is plenty to get you from point A to B without any fuss. Nothing that stands out or sets you back. A solid and neutral vehicle.
