This week we were in the 2024 Nissan Altima, one of Nissan’s flagship models in one of their top of the line “Premium” trims.
This midsize sedan combines a sporty appeal with the latest in intuitive driver assistance technology. 2024’s model continues off of 2023’s comprehensive makeover. On the exterior its lean body comes with streamline contours, offering a very classic look and appeal.
Inside, carbon fibre accents and double stitching in orange and white add a splash of flare to a very familiar and traditional set up. The seats are firm and comfortable, offering support and minimizing fatigue.
The infotainment system keeps the driver connected and informed, by providing key vehicle information in the driver’s eyeline. Coupled with the features of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The wireless charging mat is the perfect fit for most phones, offering easy charging.

A standout feature of the Altima is more relaxed highway driving with the ProPILOT Assist, this is standard on the Altima SR. It blends steering assistance with Intelligent Cruise Control, which helps the driver to stay in the centre of the driving lane while maintaining a pre-set speed and pre-set distance to the vehicle before you. This technology can also slow the vehicle to a complete stop and hold it during traffic jams. The result is less strain and work for the driver, and a more relaxed driving experience for everyone in the car.
And the 2024 Nissan Altima has Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, which adds additional traction on varying road surfaces and through varying weather conditions. It does this by automatically and intuitively distributing engine torque to all four wheels, according to the driving conditions. The goal of this technology is to provide confidence and peace of mind to the driver.
Similarly Nissan’s Safety Shield offers 360 reassurance and includes the following up to date safety features, that comes standard on all Altima grades. Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and High Beam Assist, Forward Collision Warning, and Intelligent Driver Alertness.
The 2024 Altima Platinum also has a 360-degree camera which gives a complete view around the vehicle. This feature is ideal for maneuvering at low speeds. Coupled with Traffic Sign Recognition, it can detect certain road signs and display them in the vehicle’s instrument cluster for easy read and advance preparation.
And best of all it has over 600km in tank, which is one of the largest we have driven in, and this is not even with an eco-mode. Ironically, but very usefully it shows gas stations on the split screen map of the home page, and even lists the price by litre.
As for the way it handles, the sedan was smooth and breezy. It glided over the road with every easy turn. Truly an uncomplicated vehicle that doesn’t add work to your drive to work.
