This week we were behind the wheel of the 2024 Nissan Sentra SR Premium. An affordable option with all the advanced technology and premium finishes that you would expect from a modern 2024 sedan.
The exterior was handsome with sleek body lines. A good looking vehicle, especially with the electric charged blue body paint.
With its lowered stance this felt like a sports car. A sportiness furthered by the stylish carbon fibre accent panels around the window frame, arm rest, and cup holder. You also got a bit of a bucket scoop in the seat, but no lumbar support. This was an electric adjustment for the driver, but a pump mechanism for the passenger. I did appreciate the good distance gap between your seat and the centre console to easily retrieve a fallen phone.
The seat is faux leather with the dash matching. It is definitely designed so that you are leaning back and lowered to the ground as well. For those like us, who typically set our seats higher for the preferred elevated view, we found our heads just scraping past the cloth roof of the already narrow cabin, when getting buckled in.
The centre console and infotainment system are condensed to better align with the smaller cabin and sport car sizing. Impressively the 2024 Sentra comes with all the plug in options: auxiliary, USB, C-cable, and cigarette lighter all lined up in a row. There is a rubber non-slip mat for phones and keys, but no wireless charging.
We really liked the stylish 360 direction dial for air flow adjustment with great spring back. I have only ever seen this design in a Nissan.
As for the way the Nissan Sentra drives, it is more like a sedan, steady with gentle turns of a light weight wheel, and very minimal feedback. There is also an eco-mode for fuel conservation, but you have to remember to turn it on to utilize.
The 2024 Nissan Sentra SR Premium is definitely on our radar as a great every day vehicle for city commutes and the necessary errand runs in between.
