In truth, this week didn’t have me driving all that much. This was a sad fact given my access to the 2026 Infiniti QX60 Sport and how safe I felt in such a large and boxy SUV. This was even despite the variety of weather thrown our way. From fog and sleet, to icy roads, the QX60 was not phased.
Everything about the vehicle felt as heavy as it looked on its exterior. From the chunky arm rest and clumbersome double door centre console compartment, to the handling of the vehicle on corners and the thicker grip of the steering wheel.
I did like how robust the dash felt with double stitch leather and how smooth it matte surfaces were to touch screen. I also appreciated how wide the cabin was, with seats that match. The interior and space felt like it was designed for comfort and longevity of the drive.
Considering the blind spots of a larger vehicle, I would have liked clearer overhead video cameras and reverse cameras, for easier driving. Whereas I found the picture here on the grainy side.
And a little bit of a mystery is how at one point the drive felt incredibly lethargic, you could audibly hear the poor Infiniti struggle. I hammered down on the acceleration and it still remained a slow putter. It made moving past stop signs and red lights a laborious chore. Even turning it on and off didn’t correct the issue. Thankfully the issue eventually resolved itself with no indication as to how and why.
Although my biggest complaint was the smart phone connection. The device was originally easy to pair, but I found it drop connection just as quickly. I couldn’t go a whole ride without my music stopping and my GPS map disappearing. This left me trying to reconnect mid drive, which was dangerous; but even more often just giving up as the above was very rarely successful. It didn’t matter if I had the cable or was doing it through Bluetooth the connection just didn’t hold.
