This was dinner in celebration of a birthday and an emancipation. It called for a nicer meal out before a rowdy evening at a neighbouring night club.
We made our restaurant choice on the necessity of eating a heartier meal of carbs before our main event, and the proximity of our plans after. The list of pasta places had us choosing Tutto Italian for those who have yet to visit (including myself), and for those who deemed it worthy of a revisit.
The restaurant is stunning. I have definitely bookmarked them for a return on another occasion. The room is centered around a well-stocked island bar. With the dim lights and majestic frescos painted onto the concave ceiling, the restaurant feels like something you would find within classic Vegas’ strip.
Our night would see us enjoying a couple bottle of sparkling between 3 women, a precursor to the other to come. Sparkling to start the night off fun and light with bubbles on the tongue.
For food we shared their featured Mixed Grill Plate with grilled seabass, veal picatta, tiger prawns, grilled vegetables, and an herb salad. A lot of fresh elements with quality protein, coated in a gravy. Tasty but not nearly enough food to share between 3, so we tacked on a plate of pasta.
The Agnolotti Fatti in Casa is beef short rib stuffed ravioli in a porcini brown butter sauce with sage. Once again delicious and well prepared, but not a lot of food if you are looking to share. So best to order more or have everyone order for themselves with appetizers to share.
And seeing as we were celebrating, I was lucky to be able to get a hold of the restaurant manager who arranged two surprise desserts for the birthday girl and the one celebrating her emancipation. A surprise that came personalized with handwritten messages in chocolate and a candle to blow out. A delicious and creamy coffee-soaked tiramisu with fresh fruits for garnish. Both women were ecstatic.
This was but a teaser of my Tutto experience and I would definitely like to return for more. More plates and tastes to get a better suss the restaurant, but I do like what I have seen thus far.
