In this post, my friend won a 2 night and 2 day stay at the recently rebranded Hyatt Vancouver on Alberni Street, and brought me along for the fun. The prize experience also included massages at their in house: Orrin Spa and we would fully enjoying ourselves here.

Located within the hotel, it is available to all those staying over and/or anyone who wants to experience one of the most opulent spas available to Vancouver.
As guests of the hotel, we walked down for our appointments in our hotel robes and slippers. Like the rest of the hotel, this too has yet to see any cosmetic changes. This is Orrin Spa where the staff dress in Chinese inspired uniforms and the walls are decorated with Chinese art.

We were ushered to their waiting room that doubles as a rest lounge. Here, we filled out our intake forms and indulged in their complimentary refreshments. Hot ginger tea, cold turmeric and green juice; plus a selection of chocolate, nuts, and rice crackers to munch on. What I didn’t enjoy to start, I would later take advantage of post massage.
Each massage room is equipped with its own washroom and waiting area of sorts. Plus soaker tub, sauna, shower, and powder room.
The experience begins with a 15 minute private, eucalyptus scented steam, where you are invited to disrobe and enjoy the privacy.

The masseuse rings a tranquil bell to indicate when your 15 minutes have elapsed. Upon which you are asked to take a full shower. The same products found in the hotel rooms are used here, however the shower is more than just a head. There is an over head waterfall, three steady streams that target the side of your body, and a hand held wand for more detailed cleaning.
There is a closet for your clothes and a fleece robe and rubber slippers to change into. However, I found it easier to simply slide into the heated massage table nude.

Our full body massage ran for 75 minutes, performed by a registered massage therapist. They have the ability and skill to work out pain points, with how much or how little pressure you want. However, given the more calming start to this session, I thought a more relaxing massage would flow better. With skilled hands and years of expertise, I left the room at peace.
My only regret was not being able to use the tub. It would have been nice to get a package that included a soak to end on. Although that would have made the massage moot, as they use THC infused oils that are designed to further relax the body, and it is recommended that you leave it on for at least 30 minutes after the session.

Post massage you are given time to fix yourself up. The powder room is equipped with complementary toiletries like a comb, hair ties, and cotton swabs.

When done you are welcomed with a tea and invited to use the lounge space for as long as you like. As I mentioned above, it also serves as a nice place to grab a beverage and some snacks at.
Truly one of the most enjoyable spas. Their private rooms and unique experience sets them apart. They are now my new favourite spa to recommend.
