The Wellness Show 2023

As a food blogger, writer, reviewer I feel that it is important for me to have heard of and have tried many different things. Not only does it serve as a base and point of reference when it comes to describing what I have eaten and done, it also helps in my ability to refer and recommend. The latter two are the most gratifying as it speaks to my knowledge and credibility, when I get asked for either.

So, although I am blessed to not have to worry about dietary restrictions, nor do I need to watch what I eat and how much of it I do, I do like to expand my repertoire. Especially when it comes to variety and substitutions in the world of paleo, plant-based products, gluten-free, dairy-free, allergy-free, and vegan friendly goods. And one of the best ways to discover all this and try before you buy is at conventions. And one of the best for a board exposure of goods and services is the Wellness Show. Not only for food and drink, the 30th annual Wellness Show serves “Life in Balance, Healthy Food & Lifestyle Options” (as taken from their website). You can learn plenty on skin care, physical and mental health. Basically, anything and everything that helps you lead a healthy and happy lifestyle.

Below are some of the great products I have discovered at the show in the past, that will be available for sampling at this year’s convention on the weekend of Saturday February 11th and Sunday February 12th.

The best plant-based and gluten-free bagels on the market is from O’Dough’s. Thin and light, but you don’t lose any of that chewy bagel texture you get from a regular bagel. Easy in the microwave, but best toasted with Vitalite’s plant-based, dairy-free cream cheese. Like the bagel, this spreads and tastes like regular cream cheese. Same thick and smooth texture and a great option for making dairy-free cheesecake.

And speaking of great spreads, Fontaine Sante offers a great hummus to use as a dip for your whole grain pitas, fresh cut vegetables, or even over our O’Dough’s everything bagel above. I especially recommend the jalapeño flavour with its extra kick of spice.

And last, but not least, one of the tastiest meal replacement bars on the market belongs to Mid-Day Squares. Each variety has the taste and texture of a firm and chewy chocolate brownie, jammed packed with protein to stave away hungry. So a healthy protein bar that eats like dessert.

In short I look forward to this one every year. Especially for all the samples you can to try there, and the many more you get to take home to experiment with. I will be in attendance for this year’s Wellness Show. And for those interested, check out the details below on how to get your tickets! See you there!
