Chilliwack’s favourite, family friendly, attraction farm, Greendale Acres is currently in full bloom. This beloved Fraser Valley farmstead celebrates its 27th season with new attractions, returning popular events, live music, and other activations we were checking out today.
For the tail end of summer the Sundown Music Series is being hosted Saturday nights and the Summer Send Off Festival is running this weekend, August 30rd to September 1st.
Their other regular, immersive experiences includes the bee themed corn maze, you could wander through.
We did get a token to ride the Greendale Express Train. This was the easiest way to tour the property and plan your day and direction to start.
We passed by the Pumpkin Pyramid Display, with live pumpkins grown in tiers. However, it was still early in the season and there were more green vines and leaves than orange gourds.
And through the rainbow tunnel crafted from colourful umbrellas.
More kid centric activists include the Jumping Pillow, Adventure Course, Ball Zone, Bubble Bar, Pedal Cart Track, Hay Bale Maze, Animal Displays, Farm Carousel, and more.
We visited in the late afternoon and were able to take advantage of the above with low to little children traffic. My favourite was the bubble bar where you have everything you need to create giant bubble, propelled by the wind.
My favourite feature was the U-Pick Flower Gardens. A self serve booth where you are able to grab a pair of scissors and get to snipping and creating your own bouquet. Any flowers in their designated areas were up for grabs.
You can collect them in one of their buckets to later trim down and curate in one of their vases filled with water. You have a mason jar or two types of vases to choose from. You pay for the ability to snip and the type of vase.
For those interested in visiting admission price is $18 online and $21 at the door, per person. So plan ahead and save. Free for
members.
