This long weekend week, I appreciated the easy drivability of the 2025 Kia K4 GT Line Turbo. An appealing sports car with a sleek frame and lowered body.
I liked how the passenger door handle blended into the quarter glass for a discrete look, and it had the K4 resembling a two door coup.
To further align with the over all sports car aesthetics we were sitting on bucket seats that curved in on the sides to grip, offering minimal to no lumbar support. A flat bottom cushion may be ideal for racing, but I found it uncomfortable as a daily driver.
The gearshift is chunky and stiff, heavy to handle and not what I expected from a sports model. I did like the thin touchscreen of the dash and the high quality cameras. The latter was especially important, considering how little you see out of the rear view window. It was more challenging to reverse stall park as a result of it.
Small details: I enjoyed the tactile touch of the rolling volume adjustment on the wheel and the flick switch for song changes.
The 2025 Kia K4 is extremely easy to drive. Without the need to concentrate on the handling I was on autopilot and found myself engaging a lot faster than I ought to be. I did feel more of the road underneath me, but the driver was so stable that I don’t clock the speed.
It feels and drives as speedy and zippy as it looks. There is a bit of a buildup necessary to accelerate on the line, but once it gets going, it is nimble. Similarly, there is struggle uphill and I found myself hammering on the pedal to make it. It was especially nibble on lane changes. Easy to dart out of your lane and into another when avoiding a left turn.
Despite its smaller build I did have trouble parking in a few downtown Vancouver parkades. With no button to flap shut the mirrors it was tricky exiting the car in these tighter spaces.
Overall I did enjoy my week with the 2025 Kia K4 GT Line Turbo, and would like another.
