Weekend with the 2024 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring

We had the whole weekend before us, but nowhere to be, and no desire get out there. Maybe it was the rain, or maybe fall depression was rolling in, where the days are getting darker earlier. Whatever it was, we had no desire to leave the warmth and comfort of our sofa in front of the PlayStation.

This would be such a shame considering this weekend we were equipped with the 2024 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring, a high end vehicle that would make any ride feel like a luxurious one. This was spacious sedan that best seats 4 in comfort. With stylized body contours and a sleek shell, it was as chic on the inside as it was on the outside looking in.

The cabin was posh with light up trim that you can select the colour of. Colour-therapy to reflect your mood. There was even a little spot light broadcasting the Lincoln logo onto the centre console. It did not stay on for your entire drive, but was there as a welcomed start. I thought this unique signature was very classy. It was well highlighted on the glossy cover of the compartments, adding to its discrete and elegant understatement.

I was the cushy leather seats that had me sold. The only ones I have seen so far that take into consideration hip placement, with the ability to adjust the actual seat with individual pads for left and right cheek. Similarly, you had the ability to adjust each back cushion. From head to shoulders, upper back and lower back, and the aforementioned buttocks.

A thoughtful gesture of comfort, conceived by the designers, and taken a step further with the ability to make them massage. With this function, you have ability to drill down to a single part that needed kneading or rolling, or the style of massage from energizing to relaxing. And not just for the driver, but for the front seat passenger as well. Thus making it a great option for quick getaways, and easy jaunts to the island.

The creature comforts did not end there. Individual climate control was focused and quick. Despite the colder weather, you were not left shivering with the powerful AC and heated seats. Plus an air purifying system met the outdoors stayed out, and you had your own sanctum within the Lincoln Corsair.

The full glass moon roof allowed us to take in the beauty of the scenic mountains and the changing of the leaves, as we drove up Burnaby Mountain one evening.

As for the way it handles the 2024 Lincoln Corsair was a dream with intuitive safety control, coupled with plenty of driver control. The wheel and the driver were one and as easy as it glided, so did the vehicle. Brakes were sharp and steady, giving you a sense of security, despite the flooded roads of Vancouver.

Once again a dream to drive and to be seen in, it is just a shame that we did not take full advantage of that fact.

Instead, this weekend we were gifted a freezer bag, full of President‘s Choice, PC Insider Goods, their Holiday edition. This was from frozen, already cooked, easy meals and entertaining options. Created with the hosting and celebrating season in mind, and we had the ability to try them all first. Full review of each product to come in its own post.

But with all these delicious feasting items at our fingertips, there was nothing luring us outdoors. So we found ourselves hibernating all Saturday afternoon to evening, and all of Sunday.

Saturday morning we did venture out for brunch. Burnaby’s newest hotspot for all things seafood, Bow and Stern in Brentwood mall now has brunch offerings. Living in the area, I know that there aren’t too many brunch spots around, or any that focussed on seafood, so they were worth a try.

They serve classic brunch items without trying to reinvent the wheel. No fusion options or putting an egg over something and calling it brunch. We got a good taste of majority of the menu, so I will recap everything in its own separate post then. Highlights include a lobster croque madame and a brunch tower with three tiers.

After that it was a few errands in the mall. I was getting dizzy and blue over the last week and a half. At first I thought it was a caffeine over dose or vertigo, then considered migraines being a possibility. However, upon posting about it online, a friend mentioned that she has had the same symptoms, and was able to cure herself of them with iron supplements. So I thought bought the pills and a couple of other household items from the London drugs in the mall. And spoiler I think that the pills helped.

I swung by Sephora to stock up on some face washes and cleansers. I have been forgoing my usual beauty treatments in order to tighten up the purse straps. However, the result is me not liking who I see in the mirror, and it ultimately affecting my mood. So I thought to correct this by taking care of myself, including my physical appearance, which I seem to hold in high regard.

On the same vein, I have sleeping on the upkeep of my hair, refusing to dye in order to save money, and not getting it cut thinking it would be fun to grow it. However, the result has been unsuccessful as I now don’t recognize who I see in the mirror.

So this too, I have decided to reinvest in. My partner does cut my hair, but I’ve never taken advantage of him, and I’ve always paid for the service. So here, in this latest sessions it is no different. He also toned it, so instead of the bleach blonde, I have a more sandy tone that will be easier to grow out and less obnoxious. This is what we did in the afternoon.

In the early evening, we tried to catch an amateur wrestling match at SFU. A couple of his clients were wrestling for scouts. Unfortunately our timing was off, we made it for 6pm, only to realize that matches went by quickly and that they were done by 5pm. Luckily he got to catch them on the way out.

Then Sunday, as I mentioned above, was all about staying in; cooking, or rather reheating, and playing video games. A quiet weekend that we both were appreciative for.
