New Beginnings & New Routines with Suna

Spring had inspired me to start a new. The year of the snake symbolizes wisdom, transformation, calmness and creativity. And for many zodiac signs 2025 will be life-changing.

For me it already has two months in. I have returned to school full time, have just ended a 4 year relationship, and will be hitting a landmark birthday. Change is here and it is inevitable.

So instead of focusing on the loss and the uncomfortable nature of change, I have chosen to embrace it and start anew with new routines and new habits.

On the top of my list is self growth and the maintenance of my own well being. As I educate myself in the healing arts and I I learn to help others, I cannot help but to apply the knowledge to myself and self mend.

I have already done a lot of work with my childhood traumas, working through them and coming to terms with them. Most notably realizing that I was not unwanted or unloved as I grew up believing. This is layered with understanding my mother and the culture we were raised in more, giving both leniency in my heart. Followed by learning who I am, offering myself empathy, and the ability to show up for my wants and desires. I have come to realize that it is okay to have needs and to put up boundaries. That it is safe to let those you want to be with and grow old with past my defensive walls. Actively moving more away from a once hidden to me anxious-avoidant attachment style. The goal now is a secure attachment style that starts with loving myself first and putting myself foremost.

I have already begun the work on feeling like I am enough and am actively working towards being comfortable with myself. I have had my first two solo dates and am
already enjoying the freedom of my own company. So will continue.

Another step is cementing a routine that begins with consistency and how I set up my day. With more time on my hands I have committed to going to the gym daily. 45 minutes every morning and 60 on Saturday, as per F45’s workout structure. I will not over exert myself, but do enough for an effective heart pumping and rewarding workout. The goal is to start the day happy on endorphins.

I also want to carve out time during the weekends to have a slower start. Instead of rushing from wake up to the gym then school, I want to enjoy the little things like spring flowers in bloom, the sun shining, and a warm beverage.

Today the spring crocuses I have been watching fully bloomed and were ripe for the picking. They are now a little sprig of happiness on my counter. I can see why women love recieving flowers, and I am one of them.

I also received a package from Suna recently and thought it was the perfect time and way to wake up and gather my thoughts this weekend. The first of many such weekends to come.

From the same team behind The Paragon Tea Room comes Suna, combining their knowledge of premium teas with the traditional protein shake market.

Suna uses authentic tea leaves sourced directoy from Japanese tea farms. Each blend delivers the pure tea without any artificial additives or synthetic flavours. Their sample pack included four flavours: ceremonial matcha, Royal milk tea, classic earl grey, and dark roast hojicha.

A single packet is equalavent to one serving. Mix with hot or cold, water or milk. With its fine grained consistency and enough shaking, mixing, or blending it becomes a cohesive beverage. I stirred so had a longer go to get the powder fully dissolved. It is recommended that you shake usinh a ball like with other protein mixes. Or if you have an electric milk frother that would be even better.

The result is a thick beverage much like a regular, freshly mixed foamy matcha. It was enjoyable to sip and surprisingly very filling. I had the Ceremonial Matcha that promised a “moment of clarity”. The one cup was enough to tide me over until a later lunch. I was looking to be hungry after my work out, but the pangs never came with this in me.

It is day one and it already looks bright.
