The annual Vancouver International Wine Festival is returning for its 47th year, and bringing the wine world to our door steps.
As per the website: “This is one of the biggest and oldest wine events in the world, offering something for every level of wine drinker, collector and trade professional. In 2026, the festival will feature 114 wineries from 14 countries, pouring and discussing their wines at 33 events over seven days.
The heart of the festival is the International Festival Tastings at the Vancouver Convention Centre, where each winery pours 4-5 wines for the public at four International Festival Tastings and for the hospitality industry at two Trade Tastings.”

This year the Festival will take place March 7-14, 2026, with a spotlight on France. And one of the areas worth a closer look at is
Beaujolais, as one of France’s most dynamic and evolving wine regions. Not only will they be pouring at the International Festival Tastings, but hosting a dedicated trade seminar as well.
As taken from the press release: “Today’s Beaujolais wines are vibrant, expressive, and food-friendly, offering purity of fruit, fresh acidity, and a growing sense of structure and age-worthiness.”
“Beaujolais Wines represent a vineyard defined by exceptional geological diversity, expressive terroirs, and a renewed commitment to quality. More than 300 distinct soil types, including granite, limestone, and volcanic rock, shape the Beaujolais landscape, which is recognized as a UNESCO Global Geopark.
This remarkable diversity is expressed across 12 appellations, from Beaujolais and Beaujolais Villages to the region’s celebrated Crus.”

Maison Piron, Beaujolais Blanc 2023
