Boulevard, 10 year anniversary

Vancouver’s culinary and restaurant scene is fickle. Trends come and go, and fads fade; so when you see a restaurant with longevity it is to be celebrated. And today we would be recognizing the continued relevancy of Boulevard, one of Vancouver’s premium seafood restaurants located in the Sutton Hotel.

This was an invite only event where friends and family of the restaurant, and its owners and staff convened in Boulevard’s private room. Here to acknowledge their decade of success, and help to usher 10 additional years with small bites and unlimited drinks.

As guests checked in, they were greeted with a glass of champagne to toast the evening.

Two bars were opened across three rooms. Canned beer, glasses of wine, and Maker’s Mark cocktails were available for ordering all night long.

The centre piece of the entire party was a “BLVD” branded ice tower. It was used as the platform for a collection of fresh seafood. Oysters, muscles, and shrimp. Each of which you dress yourself. There were also scallop bites and tuna Tataki sliced that made the rounds.

There are also two grazing boards of charcuterie. A handsome collection of cured meats, spicy sausages, hardened and pungent cheeses, plus sweet figs and sour cherries to pick from.

Servers also brought around small bites, but there were quick yo go. There was a wagyu and pepper skewer, creamy crab stuffed cucumber, and beef sliders. I really didn’t get to taste enough to be able to review them.

It was standing room only and guests were invited to mix and mingle, while scoping out their next drink or bite.

As the night wore on, we heard speeches from the Owners and Executive Chefs. They acknowledged those who helped them achieve this decade of success, recapping memories and telling stories.

A warming sentiment before desserts were served.

Overall, a great way to celebrate such a
momentous occasion and I was appreciative of being able to be a part of the festivities as a guest with no expectation to post or write.
