Little Pisces: Hot Chocolate Festival 2026

Today I was out with my friend, who is a fan of the Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival. So when looking for a spot to meet up at she decided on Little Pisces Café, to try their offerings. They have two locations, the original in Richmond and the one were at tonight in Coquitlam

The Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival is celebrating its 16th year, as the winter festival that invites guests to visit local cafes and bakeries to try their creative hot chocolate creations from January 17th to February 14, 2026.

Most participating businesses have multiple creations to choose from, and some have one running the first two weeks of the festival and a different one rotating in the second half of it.

Little Pisces has 3 such hot chocolates available today. They all look the same with their trademark orange branded cup rimmed with their homemade toasted meringue, and a skewer of two miniature versions of their Nutella filled Taiyaki as garnish. The meringue gave the classic campfire toasted marshmallow s‘mores feel.

We tried their white rabbit and chocolate banana flavour, skipping out on the piña colada.

The Bunny Butt White Rabbit Hot Chocolate was our favourite. This was nostalgic and exactly like the candy. This was a milky sweetness that was just missing the iconic edible rice paper wrapper. Its inclusion or a complimentary taiyaki filling would have been a nice touch. The only thing that had this cup standing out from the other was a little “bunny tail” with a chocolate syrup “x” to denote that this was the white rabbit.

The taiyaki itself was delicious. Golden cakey pastry filled with melty chocolate. A wonderful treat that wasn’t too sweet. So good, that my host bought a box back for her kids waiting at home.

The Get That Banana Bread Hot Chocolate was more banana and chocolate than bread. Tasty, but I expected the baked goodness of fresh banana bread in a cup. This was more like banana milkshake with chocolate, and I don’t think they use purée due to how thin and smooth the drink was. Similarly to above, I would have liked the taiyaki filling to more closely relate to the beverage, maybe this could have been the banana bread moment?

Overall, these were fun creations and a creative way to getting more bodies into the cafe to try them, it certainly worked for us.
