Introducing matcha the summer way, combining Mister’s delicious liquid nitrogen ice cream with Paragon Tea Room’s quality matcha. Four ways to beat the heat and get your healthy caffeine fix.
Mister is turning 9, and throwing a Matcha Party to celebrate. From now until August 5th you can indulge in four different matcha-forward creations, crafted in collaboration with the Paragon Tea Room, and we tried them all. Each made with ceremonial-grade matcha sourced from Kakegawa, Japan. These treats are meant to be a celebration of quality, tradition, and innovation.
The Paragon Matcha Ice Cream is their classic made to order, scooped and formed into a cone shape, liquid nitrogen ice cream with premium ceremonial matcha. Available in dairy and vegan options. It was like drinking the richness of their matcha, but with the silky richness of a heavy cold cream dessert. Not sweet, just intense matcha.
Their Dipped Matcha Bar was my favourite way to enjoy this collection. The same ice cream as above, but frozen into a bar and dipped to go with a lush matcha coating. With this you get your matcha in two different forms and textures. A crunchy, less sweet layer to bite through, to access the creamy and sweeter middle cream. Like their regular scoops this too was quick to melt.
The Matcha Tea Latte Float was a great way to take your matcha on the go. Everything you like about a matcha latte with creamy matcha milk tea, but topped with a scoop of matcha ice cream for double the matcha.
If looking for a more filling dessert, the Matcha Mango Sticky Rice Affogato is your go-to. Sweet sticky rice with a vegan mango ice cream, and an aromatic shot of matcha. We liked the flavour and texture of this one, but would have liked the matcha more syrupy. The hot tea made things melt fast and in the cup it ate like a stew.
Overall, I loved everything and absolutely think this is worth trying if you are a fan of matcha. Be sure to come down to their Robson location before August 5th and bring friends so you can enjoy all four. Or visit Paragon Tea Room’s CF Pacific Centre spot for select treats as well.
