Have you ever wanted to drink at the mall? I know I have, as I enjoy finding creative places to enjoy a glass of wine at. And now we can, thanks to Metrotown’s new holiday lounge.
Starting November 25th, 2024 their rotating pop-up space will be transformed into a festive escape. Marketed as a comfortable spot to take a seat and rest between bouts of shopping. Or grab a bit of rest away from the hustle and bustle of busy mall crowds, or maybe take a spill as you wait for an appointment or even your significant other to finish their shopping excursion. Whatever the reason, whatever the need, you will now have a place to do in it.
This is 3500 ft.² “holidayscape” is free to enjoy with comfortable sofa seating, classic holiday movies playing, and live music; all dressed in magical holiday decor. There is even a dedicated kids’ area offering arts and crafts to keep the little ones busy.
And within the space there is a VIP section.
VIP access is granted to guests who spend $300 or more (before tax) on the same day, you enter by showing your receipt(s) at the door. This exclusive VIP Lounge includes a complimentary glass of wine, a hot chocolate bar, sweet treats and light snacks. There is a private kids lounge area and holiday film screening section, as well as parcel and coat check-in. One adult guest, along with children ages 15 and younger, may also join at no cost.
The first 500 shoppers to enter the VIP Lounge will be gifted with the Met’s red Holiday tote, which allows unlimited in-and-out access to this space throughout the holidays. You can visit daily, with a punch card to track your visits.
We got a sneak peak look at the above 2 weeks before. Our visit included a live DJ and the ability to take photos within a snow globe, dance with a lively polar bear, and even meet the Grinch.
Other festive offerings from Metrotown include “Date Night with Santa”, a brand new, two-night only 19+ event, that will also take place in the Holiday Lounge. This takes place on December 6 and 13th and tickets can be purchased through the link below.
