It is no surprise that I’m an advocate for proliverate, the liver supplement. With all the drinking I do there are consequences, and with proliverate in my arsenal it helps to minimize some of it.
However, before this day and this post, I was taking it blindly, out of faith and trust. And now after today’s behind-the-scenes tour of how Proliv is made, I can confidently say this all natural supplement is worth the hype I’m giving it.
As some added credibility, the owners of Proliv, are actually consultants in the health supplement space (as their full time careers). Their job is to help their clients create and manufacture any given wellness product that they can conceive. From the chemical make up of it, all the way to its packaging, marketing, and distribution.
Today we were at NuEra, a pharmacy supplier and manufacturer in Richmond, British Columbia. Where they produce Proliv, in addition to other national and international brands of dry medication. This includes pills, powders and capsules the likes of pre-workout powder, calcium tablets, and in our case liver aids.
Our tour took us around their entire facility and included face time with the owners of the company, upper management, their office space, receiving, and of course all the staff and machines that make Proliv what it is. From loose powder to topical pill, and eventually one of many in a blister pack.
To enter the lab we were required to suit up. We dawned lab coats, hairnets, and bootie coverings. This is to be sure that there are no contaminants brought in to the production area. This also includes getting blasted with sanitizing air pressure within a controlled chamber before gaining access to the inner sanctum of the lab. There are various machines with the same functions. The one you use depends on the desired outcome, taking into consideration batch size and consistency.
Proliv is made from all natural ingredients, ground up into powder. Powders that are sourced from the same vendor to ensure consistency. Although, having said that, natural ingredients are similar to wine, in that they can vary from season to season, and year to year. Therefore to avoid any inconsistencies, there is a quality control desk and checks for every step of the process.
An individual is stationed to not only monitor the automated processes, but to ensure the quality standards are in check. Interestingly, a completed sample from every batch is stored for up to five years. This is to have something to reference and look back at, should Health Canada or any other agency request it. Should a need to check the chemical make up of any health or wellness product arise. Immediate samples are kept on site, whereas additional units are stored in a climate controlled warehouse nearby.
Proliv’s mix is naturally, a proprietary blend, one that has been tried and tested by the owners themselves. Done through rigorous long nights with many drinks in hand, they jokingly state that the product was originally created for they, themselves, who like to drink. I fall under that category myself and that is why Proliv and I make the best bedmates.
This exact mix of all of proprietary ingredients are tumbled together in a cement-style mixer to ensure an even blend.
Next, the powder is piped into individual capsules and sealed in a specialty machine that spits the completed pill out into a bin.
Each capsule is then tumbled to give it an even coating. The tumbling ensures there is no excess powder loose, as it shines each individual pill. Other pills may get a sugar coating during this process.
From here other finished pills may be sorted into a plastic cannister topped with a white cotton ball, then sealed with a plastic lid, and heat wrapped before being boxed individually.
But in the case of Proliv, all individual pills are sorted on a conveyor belt into plastic blister packs that are then sealed with an aluminum foil for an easy-to-pop covering.
The final step for Proliv is to have each blister pack inserted into their trademark orange cardboard sleeve. They are available in either single use two pills per mini pack, or a larger pack that has enough for at least four doses. The latter is more share style and is also useful for when you are l having a longer night and need to re-up your dosage.
It was so interesting to be able to see how this is made, much like the TLC television show I watched growing up.
Once again, I now have new found appreciation and trust for this preventative pill that I have introduced to so many people, and have incorporated into my own life.
It was fantastic to meet the people behind it, to learn that they themselves use it as a primary endorsement, and to tap their brains on what is the future of Proliv.
The ladder I learned is not just similar products in the same wellness market, but lateral progression. On top of pills they are looking to have Proliv as a powder that you can add to a drink, and as a tablet that dissolves on your tongue.
I told them I wanted to see Proliv as day after electrolyte drink, and/or in an IV drip option.
Summer is here, the beach and drink parties are ramping up, and Proliv is here to help. So grab yourself a pack. Available on their website below, and at many private liquor stores and supplemental health markets.
