How I lost inch off my waist in 30 minutes~
Inspired by my recent full body DEXA scan that revealed where I was carrying a lot of my fat; I decided to visit Alyssa Essential Beauty Inc. on Kingsway, in East Vancouver for a body contouring treatment.
They are a medi-spa offering a wide array of beauty and health treatments including medical facials and chemical peels to hydrabrasion and the body remodelling and tightening treatment that I would be trying today.
This is Alyssa Essential Beauty Inc. a mother and daughter duo with their own clinic. The mother started off selling skincare, and her clients encouraged to her to offer face-focused treatments to marry with these products. So when daughter, Alyssa became a certified aesthetician Alyssa Essential Beauty Inc. was born. They have been seeing loyal customers for two years come December.
They do not take walk-ins, it is by appointment only, the door is locked with the need to be buzzed in. You start with the obligatory intake form. This is one of the most detailed ones I have ever filled out. It included questions on smoking and alcohol intake, your vitamin and supplement regiment, and even history of cold sores.
This, you complete in their lounge with a hot towel and a mini bottle of chilled water. I found this a lovely way to slow down from the outside world, transitioning into the spa treatment to come.
I got the Venus Versa skin tightening and body contouring treatment. “It uses Multi-Polar Radio Frequency (RF) and Pulsed

I saw instant results with just the one treatment. Popular areas to focus on include the abdomen, thighs, flanks, and back. The former two runs $250 for the duration of 30 minutes, the latter two $200 and $175 respectively.
I would go for the abdomen, as my largest pain point, literally. Here, a gel is painted on to your stomach for lubrication and to avoid friction from the handheld apparatus. It feels like you are getting ironed on, especially given that the nozzle dispenses heat. A slow incline from 30 to 40-43 degrees. More heat does not mean better result, it is what you can take and are comfortable with that matters. This heat is what helps to tighten and flatten the fat cells.
The Venus is the introduction to such body contouring. They also have the Evolve X: Body Remodel, which is is an advanced body contouring treatment that combines radiofrequency (RF) energy and electrical muscle stimulation (EMS). RF energy heats and breaks down fat cells while stimulating collagen production for skin tightening. So it decreases fat and increases muscle for $350. Tightening and toning.
My results were instant. My abdomen was measured with tape and photos were taken to give me a before and after look. And I am happy to announce that I lost an inch after 30 minutes. The results are permanent to a certain extent, you need only to maintain it with a healthy diet, exercise, and plenty of water. Drinking water after your appointment will also help to drain the lymphatic system, flushing out toxins.
Additional treatments are recommended every two weeks to a month. If I had the income, I would absolutely indulge in this treatment regularly. There are some stubborn fats that need additional work and we may need additional help.
