2023 Volvo V60CC

This week we were in the 2023 Volvo V60CC. The “CC” stands for cross country and it is advertised as a ready for anything wagon. The same tech you have grown to know and love from Volvo, in an all wheel drive for off road capabilities. Although, we did not engage in that, we did put the V60CC through the paces in our daily driving for the week.

Just looking at it, you don’t necessarily think outdoorsy or can easily picture a roof rack attached to it. Especially given the lower stance, and the hatchback wagon aesthetic with its panoramic sunroof. And like most Volvos we have driven in thus far, it comes with the luxury of massaging seats and a premium quality sound system the likes of Bowers and Wilkins, which marks the top of the line for Volvo. I have yet to experience such an indulgence in any vehicle I take to the country. And taking a step back, the 2023 Volvo V60CC wagon does feel aged, like I should have been driven around in it, instead of taking it for a joyride.

Despite its length, the Volvo V60CC does not drive heavy and there is no fear that its tail would flick out. The additional length has the rest of the interior feeling very spread out. You felt laid back in the car, with plenty of leg room for the front cabin occupants. Although not so much for the back seat. From the front it feels like your passengers are sitting closer to your back with the need to bend both of their knees. Although the seats themselves were wide enough to fit three lean people, without going shoulder to shoulder. Although I suggest sticking to two passengers to be able to convert the centre seat more comfortably into a wide arm rest. This adds to the plush of the cushioned arm chair experience.

Each Individual seat front and back came with its own climate control, arm rest, and compartment bins on door. Plus an individual head light, roof handle grip, and unknown plastic holding hole above it.
I have not googled what the latter most is, as let it be known, my writing typically involves being able to pick up the nuance of the car without have to work it out or flip through a telephone book’s worth of reading from the manual.

Only the driver’s seat came highly customizable, where you were able to fine tune the lumbar, adjust the leg rest, and really feel yourself spread out. Extending on luscious biscotti coloured leather seats that transitioned to the door handles and arm rest. The tan colour of this matched the dark wood panel detailing on dash.

On a minor note, as a woman who travels with a lot of stuff. I found the seatbelt alert beeping steadily when I had my belongings in the passenger seat.

In closing, not the sexiest Volvo I have been in, and not the one I would gravitate towards for looks alone, but it has all the hallmarks and expeditions of the brand delivered. The real test would have been to equip the V60CC as your weekend warrior, driving your family out of the city for some off roading fun in the wilderness.
